Kathrine (Kat), who is stuck in the middle and her eclectic group of friends. She's not a honor student like Lupe, she's not super confident like Charis, and she's not popular like Rebecca. Her only way of expressing herself is through song, which is her gift, but with her mother Jane acting as a manager, it sometimes feels more of a curse.
The one person who understands her completely is also the person she has the least in common with, the star basketball player and her oldest friend, Adan. Even though they're night and day, they still are very close and even stay at each others houses from time to time (much at the other girls dismay). However, their relationship gets complicated once Kat develops feelings for him.
